On the 25th March over 250 people walked, used bikes, scooters or skateboards on an illuminated journey along Hastings seafront to remember Harley Simpson.
His wonderful Mum & Dad Jo & Gary share their story .. Harley loved life. He was often a cheeky and energetic lad full of mischief with an infectious smile and giggle which bought joy and laughter to so many. Harley had an endearing tender nature in his concern for others, a true helper at heart he loved nothing more than to lend a hand but was always modest in his acceptance of praise. We are all so proud of his determination, for such a young boy.
“We didn’t just want to draw the curtains and sit in darkness, we wanted to give something back as You Raise Me Up has been like an extended family. It’s very important that we keep Harley’s memory alive.
“You Raise Me Up is providing us with counselling, support groups and a wonderful coffee shop in Polegate. All proceeds raised from the walk of light and other events will be going to this wonderful charity.”
They have raised an amazing £8321.67 and are still raising more.
