Stuart completes Surrey 100 in memory of Aiden

Stuart Cox took part  in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 on 30 July 2017 in memory of his son Aiden

He tells his story …About my reasons for raising money:

“As many of you know my beautiful son Aiden tragically lost his life at the tender age of 17 in August last year.He spent more than 3 months in PICU (pediatric intensive care unit) in St Georges hospital, Tooting and recovered to the point of moving to a ward and coming home when his tracheostomy tube penetrated a major artery. This was such a sudden shock after months of emotional ups and downs. He was such a strong and brave boy and we are devastated. He is missed by all of us every day.

On completing the ride Stuart wrote …

“I completed the ride in just under 6 hours. I struggled with pain in my legs most of the course but I had a great time. I am really pleased that with the help of family, friends and work colleagues I have raised a good amount of money for you, which should total around £2000. You provide such a valuable service to families who have had their world torn apart.

My beautiful boy, Aiden was always in my thoughts during the ride, I wish I could have shared this day with him.

Thank you so much Stuart with love from everyone at YRMU xx
